Micheal joined the Welch LLP team in 1978 after graduating from the University of Ottawa, where he received his Bachelor of Administration degree. He went on to receive his Chartered Account (CA) designation in 1981 and his Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation thereafter. As a specialist Micheal initially concentrated in all areas of taxation – corporate and personal. This expertise was subsequently augmented with his extensive exposure to financial and estate planning, as well as cross-border consulting.

Elliott Bourgeois received his Master of Management Science (MSc) and Bachelor of Commerce from the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, both in Finance, and began working with Welch LLP in 2018. Previously, he’s taught finance fundamentals through UofO, followed by finance roles at one of Canada’s large financial institutions and export credit agency.

Chris began his career as a student with Welch in 1998, and left the firm temporarily to take on roles with the Bank of Canada, the Department of Finance Canada and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). He served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer for IRCC as well as Chief Financial Officer for the Department of Finance.
